Lavender essential oil is obtained by distillation of the flowers of Lavandula Angustifolia, a plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It is the most renowned of the essential oils, it has always been used in thermal baths and for its special perfume, as proven also by the attention reserved to it by the chemist Gattefossé, the father of aromatherapy in the 1920s.
Lavender essential oil is a real panacea: besides its antiseptic, sedative, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties, it is an excellent remedy for irritations and burns, and can be used also on children.
