Lactic Acid

Lactic Acid

Lactic Acid

(Lactic Acid)

Description

It belongs to the alpha-hydroxy acid family, also called AHAs, or fruit acids. It is a product of the catabolism of amino acids and sugars.

Features

Lactic acid is one of the most important constituents of the NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor), and therefore has humectant capacities that help retain the necessary moisture in the stratum corneum, thus significantly improving skin hydration.

When applied in concentrated form, alpha hydroxy acids exert a peeling effect, promoting skin turnover and the neosynthesis of matrix components. The horny layer is reconstituted.

Benefits

  • Significantly improves skin hydration
  • Increases the production of ceramides, improving the performance of the skin barrier.
  • Lightening and anti-aging effect.
