Fomes Officinalis is a mushroom that grows on Larch trunks, in Eastern Europe. It consists in tubers that grow vertically in various layers that are renewed each year. It is quite rare and popularly known also as Agarikon: well-known liqueurs, but above all our Pore Astringent, are extracted from its pulp.
Its therapeutic properties were already valued in ancient times; later on, agaric acid was discovered inside it, which can regulate the excess sebaceous secretion and smooth the skin surface. It is ideal for people with hyper-seborrheic and impure skins.
