Castor oil comes from the seed of the Ricinus Communis plant, an evergreen shrub native to East Africa. It mainly consists of ricinoleic acid and undecylenic acid.
Traditional uses of castor oil include treating skin problems, burns, sunburns, skin disorders, skin cuts, abrasions, etc. It is well tolerated by the skin and used as a carrier oil and skin conditioning agent in cosmetics, it has moisturizing, emollient and protective properties.
